Client: Sortbat
Machine: Mini Screener XL
Product: Batteries
Sortbat has a state-of-the-art facility where batteries are sorted, and damaged and undamaged batteries are secured, collected, reused and dismantled. They work to improve the environment by sorting batteries more efficiently to recycle them in the best way possible. Batteries come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from heavy-duty bicycle batteries to AAA and button cell batteries. Not obvious to be able to separate all these sizes from each other.
Before switching to a customized installation, Sortbat first tested extensively with a standard Mini Screener that was completely covered in rubber. This included testing with screening nets with different mesh openings => 100×8 / 30×3 / 30×8 / 40×40 / 40×8 / 3x3mm ….
The installation for Sortbat consists of a Mini Screener XL with gooseneck feed conveyor and various discharge and sorting belts. The Mini Screener XL currently screens in 3 fractions but can eventually be expanded to 5 fractions by replacing the standard Mini Screeners with two Mini Screener 3-fraction screeners.
